This set and its minifigure selection shares certain similarities with 76178 Daily Bugle, although the Spider-Man set contains many more new and long-awaited characters. Instead, I find the minifigures available here more akin to those in 10188 Death Star and 75159 Death Star, as much of the main cast is included, but there is relatively little to excite more seasoned Marvel Super Heroes collectors. Loki commands an army of Chitauri in The Avengers and four of these alien soldiers are found here, which is a reasonable number to display around the tower. The same minifigure has now appeared in various sets and this is my favourite version of the Chitauri, thanks in particular to the metallic gold highlights on their heads and torsos. The actual helmet element looks splendid, but the head underneath is poor. As usual, the flesh tone appears washed out because it has been printed on a dark colour. LEGO clearly needs to solve this frequent issue, but I think using the same head on both minifigures would have been equally acceptable here.
