Can I Use a 52V Battery on a 48V Motor The short answer is no, you cannot. A 52v battery is too powerful for a 48v motor and will damage or destroy the motor. A battery’s full charge voltage is the highest voltage that should be applied to a fully charged battery. Applying a higher voltage to a fully charged battery can damage the battery and shorten its life. For most lead-acid batteries, the full charge voltage is 2.40 volts per cell.

It’s important to note that the full charge voltage of a lead-acid battery varies depending on temperature – at lower temperatures, the full charge voltage will be higher than at higher temperatures.
