Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can't go on this way forever. Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year.

The pain and suffering Willingham describes are palpable, I couldn’t even begin to imagine how Isabelle must have felt through that year her son was missing or what the other characters had gone through, some with much more sympathy than others. I devoured ALL THE DANGEROUS THINGS over my holiday break this year, and found this to be one of those rare books that genuinely is impossible to put down. And then, one fateful day, another convention attendee—a true crime podcaster with a burgeoning audience and a knack for solving real-world mysteries—catches wind of Isabelle’s story, and offers his help.Martin's Press/Minotaur Books, NetGalley and author Stacy Willingham for the digital ARC and Macmillan Audio for the ALC to honestly review. All the Dangerous Things is a psychological thriller about a missing child and his sleep-deprived mother obsessed with finding out the truth behind his disappearance. Isabelle is an unreliable narrator, and since she doesn’t sleep, her memory is murky, and her obsession with finding Mason has her struggling to separate reality from fantasy. Isabelle Drake's son, Mason, was taken from his crib while Isabelle and her husband Ben slept in the next room.

Her repeated sleepwalking episodes were a mystery to her parents and troubling to her little sister, Margaret, who adored her big sister but was frightened by these behaviors. I follow him through another door, the gentle roar of applause erupting as soon as it opens and we step inside. She gives speeches about her missing child, knowing that people are interested, hoping to find answers. A lot of people like that style of writing, and sometimes I do too, but for whatever reason it just didn't work for me here. We have a back and forth timeline with Isabelle now and Isabelle as a girl growing up with her parents and little sister, Margaret. It was interesting to be inside her head as she grappled with the loss of Mason and tried to make sense of it. Willingham’s writing is beautiful and she didn’t rely on flashy, “in your face” twists and thrills to grab attention.
