With only 13.8 horses on tap, that means acceleration is a languid affair, accompanied by a diminutive snarl like a slightly annoyed kitten. Could rent peak in 2025? Property firm says they will rise 6% next year before hitting 'affordability ceiling' Its swoopy, stand-out looks and digital dashboard seemed to have arrived from another planet, its alien green-like colour (actually called ‘Citrus Yellow’) only adding to that ‘out of this world’ feel. The slightly less good news is that since it’s the size of a maxi scooter, the wet weight is 182kg, compared with the Honda’s 124kg. George Foreman - former heavyweight boxer and grill magnate - to sell his incredible 52-car collection at auction

The front grille is nicely modelled and the model sports French number plates which I believe indicate that the car was registered in Paris. Just the place for a trendy foreign car. The bonnet correctly features the off centre bulge needed to clear the carburetors. Don’t be fooled, the Honda Jazz Sport is no hot hatch. However, the peppier engine and more dynamic styling do offer added appeal – especially in a market so popular with younger buyers. Those used to modern turbo engines will continue to find the Jazz a challenge, but fans of high-revving naturally aspirated units will find solace in the old-school Sport. Still, the cheaper versions make more sense. Honda’s modern Monkey is powered by an air-cooled, four-stroke 125cc motor producing just 9bhp and 8.1ftlb of torque – although this was uprated for 2021 – and is easy as pie to operate: key in, turn it on and the Monkey's LCD dash bursts into life and gives you a cheeky little wink (no really). The original two-seat coupé-silhouetted Insight gave way to the second-generation model in 2009 (although production ended in 2006), which featured Toyota Prius-like styling and a five-door body. We take a trip down hybrid memory lane in Honda UK’s pristine first-generation car to remember the original Prius’ only real contemporary rival. What was it? As were the emissions. While the hybrid Toyota emitted 114g/km, the little 80g/km Honda was a whole 34g/km cleaner. While few drivers would see the claimed economy figure (around 60mpg was nearer the mark for most), around 700 miles was theoretically possible from the Japanese hybrid. What did it cost? When in neutral, the engine is shut off, just like most contemporary cars of 2018, restarting when first gear is selected. The ride is a strange mix of both firm and soft, the two-seater feeling soft when cornering and more hard-riding when the road surface turns a little less smooth. The only downside to this soft ride is that the Monkey has a max permissable weight limit of 105kg, which you could easily reach if you’ve got all your gear on and a bag full of ‘swag’.

Equipped with fresh styling, a new part-LCD display and keyless ignition, there’s also a new chassis and engine, plus 2kg less overall weight for slightly improved nippiness about town. Related articles on MCNLightweight construction and space-age looks reminiscent of the 1983 Honda CR-X ensured the original Insight was almost ahead of its time. Shrouded beneath this is a new, lighter steel frame, which helps bring kerb weight down to just 100kg – that’s 135kg less than Honda’s recently announced Forza 750 maxi scooter for a bit of context… In fact, it’s even 30kg lighter than a dinky Honda CB125R! But that’s missing the point. Honda has built a bike that not only looks good but also functions in the modern world. On some retros that isn’t always the case as, frustratingly, styling so often takes priority over ride-ability.
