Description

The LG UltraFine 4K is equipped with two HDMI ports and a single DisplayPort. Wes Davis/CNN Underscored It’s worth noting that they’re not utilizing the traditional D-sub connection for this model. Believe it or not, some people still use this cable, so if you’re one of them, be sure you don’t use this connector for video before purchasing this model. All that is to say if you’re considering this monitor, plan on buying an alternative mount. It uses the VESA 100mm x 100mm standard, so it won’t be hard to find a good one that fits. I use a cheapish Vivo articulating mount, and it works great if you don’t move your monitor around a lot but occasionally need to swing it out of the way.

If you really want to enjoy HDR, I recommend going with higher ratios like 600 or 1000. Overall, the sharpness of this monitor will, for sure, surprise you, even if you’ve already used one with 4k resolution. You also get a bit higher contrast ratio than that of the previous models. The contrast ratio of the UL series ranges from 700:1 to 1,000:1, while the UK variants sit at around 1,000:1. On the 2021 UP models, it ranges from 1,000:1 to 1,200:1. The low refresh rate is no longer common for any sort of screen, just as the IPS panel is no longer a specific characteristic for professional monitors. The main advantage of IPS technology is excellent color consistency and viewing angles as the image will remain basically perfect regardless of the angle you’re looking at it. The display is factory-calibrated at Delta E < 5, which is fine for everyday use and basic content creation. However, if you plan on doing professional color-critical work, you’ll need a colorimeter to ensure proper accuracy. A couple of years ago, the VA and TN panels were the most popular for gaming displays, while the IPS was reserved for professional screens with superior accuracy. The IPS panel is practically a must for a display to be part of the professional monitors’ range. The VA and TN are becoming more outdated as technology advances, and Fast IPS and standard IPS screens become even better for gaming scenarios.

Some of the standard and widely used aspect ratios are 4:3, 5:4, 16:9 and 16:10. The percentage of the approximate area, taken by the active part of the screen, to the total front area. Luminance - I aim for 120 cd/m2, which is the recommended luminance for LCD monitors in normal lighting conditions Moving on, the LG 27UP600 has a peak brightness of 400-nits, which is in line with the older models. Even in particularly bright rooms, you won’t have any problems with glare as the screen’s high brightness can mitigate it.

Still, this isn’t a fair comparison, and they’re excellent, at least better than average for current LG monitors, so this is unquestionably a positive for the screen. This monitor has 4 levels of gamma settings. Among them, mode 2 and 4 are the closest to Gamma 2.2, which are 2.14 and 2.26 respectively. Additionally, the value of mode 3 is 2.50, which is closer to the standard use in the fields of digital video and audio entertainment.
