Imaging is very good, as the instruments are placed in the full spectrum of positions from extreme left to extreme right. Luckily, though the depth these earbuds reach in your ear can get uncomfortable, it also makes for pretty good isolation. That’s a total battery life of just under 20 hours which is okay although plenty of other headphones have a lot more to offer than that. You’ll still be able to hear what’s going on around you but you won’t be too distracted by it, in my experience. The flat side panels on each earbud sporting the Audio-Technica logo are touch-sensitive and you can access the controls by tapping once, twice, or three times, or holding on either.

Video watchers who want something designed to combat audio-visual lag may like the ATH-SSQ1TW’s low-latency mode too. Audio Technica says they’ve been designed for all your multimedia needs – they even include a low latency mode to help keep sound and vision in sync when watching videos. For build, battery life and feature set at this budget level, Audio-Technica's decisions here are all spot on. It’s easy enough to unlock them, you just need to press down on the earbud and you should hear a tone that lets you know they’re ready to use. This is useful for hearing what's going on around you, but it's usually only found in earbuds with active noise cancellation (ANC), which the ATH-SQ1TW earbuds do not have. You need to tap each panel once before it responds to input, which keeps you from accidentally triggering them. These wireless earbuds are far from boring, so if you don’t want to follow the crowd with simple AirPod-esque black or white buds then these will fit the bill.

The other notable feature is a low-latency mode meant to combat audio-visual lag, but it’s not incredibly effective. Apart from the otherwise standard array of controls (more on that in a bit), these earbuds bring two notable features. In JEFF the Brotherhood's " Chilled to Bones," the drum kit sounds huge, even though it's quite a dry-sounding recording. You can hear every word in songs, podcasts and videos while instruments are well-defined and there’s plenty of power across the audio. These wireless earbuds feature hard plastic fins, but they’re ornamental, pointing forward when you wear them (not that getting that right is very important for a good fit). They hook themselves up as soon as you take them out of the case and the connection didn’t drop out even when I wandered away from my phone. Its expertise in innovation quickly spread to various new fields and led to the development of tone arms, microphones and headphones. This is definitely perceptible, though it’s not generally recommended to use any Bluetooth monitors for latency-critical recording tasks. See, what we're trying to express is that the ATH-SQ1TW are clear proof that Audio-Technica is loving Audio-Technica right now.
