graphic novel by Frank Miller marvelously recount the one of the most spectacular moment of battlefield valor in history. In this comic series, Miller masterfully captures the historic battle of Thermopylae. In this battle, Leonidas the Spartan King and his small army of 300 men heroically confront the invasion of the vast Persian army. Led by Emperor Xerxes, the Persians are intended to bring Greece under the empire. Tropes show how literature is conceptualized and created and which mixture of elements makes works and genres unique:

That all being said, this did impress me, as mentioned, and I feel that it’s a nice enough improvement over the original HD releases of the film that I’ve owned over the years — discussed a bit further in the bonus section. “300” in its debut to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format impressed me enough to earn it a respectable 4.75 rating for video quality. It’s totally not perfect, being only from a 2K scan, but it looks very good and is a definite improvement. Next time around, on the film’s next 4K UHD Blu-ray release, perhaps they’ll give it a true 4K scan or remaster it. For now though, visually in 4K, this will do just fine and is one sure to leave the fans pleased. I mean, I love the goddamn film, it's the most gloriously stupid, high camp, bloody mess imaginable and perfect in every imperfect way. Unfortunately, the original comic fails spectacularly by being the movie only taken seriously. No. The movie 300 has the Spartan soldiers fighting nearly naked without any form of body armor protecting them. Body armor was a valuable asset to the real Spartan soldiers. 300 author Frank Miller commented on this alteration in an Entertainment Weekly interview, "I took those chest plates and leather skirts off of them for a reason. I wanted these guys to move and I wanted 'em to look good. ... Spartans, in full regalia, were almost indistinguishable except at a very close angle." So: the first three issues are a prequel/sequel to 300, in that they’re set before, during and immediately after 300 - except 300 is never referenced. Why not??? This book is a companion piece to 300 - why not add some context to help the reader understand what’s going on?!

Extended love scene between Leonidas and the queen; viewers can see her nude breasts and his butt. The adolescent Oracle writhes and sways while wearing a sheer cloth that reveals her breasts. A character unwillingly has sex to procure a politician's favor. Although no nudity is shown in that scene, the aggressor whispers menacingly: "This will not be fast. You will not enjoy this." Xerxes' lair is depicted like an orgy, with various half-dressed Persian women kissing, moaning, and having sex. The other thing I noticed was how bad the lettering is. I guess Miller did it himself because no one else is credited. Lettering is something you don't really notice unless it's awful and it really stands out here. At lest Alex Sinclair's colors make Miller's cash grab look good. Miller must have really needed the money to release this turd of a comic.

Los colores muy buenos y si es cierto que al principio los espartanos parecían de raza negra luego la cosa mejoró y sí parecían espartanos. La película es tan fiel que me parece que todos los diálogos que salen en le comic lo dicen en la película. In the end, the invading Persians (who offer to enrich Sparta in exchange for her vassalship) sound a lot more like today's America. And the Spartans look a lot more like today's Iran, proud and smart enough to develop nuclear capability and cunning enough to abuse a few British sailors for the sake of political advantage. is a historically inspired 1998 comic book limited series written and illustrated by Frank Miller with painted colors by Lynn Varley.is adapted from a graphic novel by Frank Miller. Miller had been fascinated with the Battle of Thermopylae ever since he saw Rudolph Maté’s movie The 300 Spartans when he was six years old.

I went to Greece and researched the story as much as I could - walked the battlefield and all of that - and just put it all down. It took a lot of distillation of the genuine history and I'm taking an awful lot of liberties with everything, but that's my job. If you want reality, catch a documentary. - Frank Miller, Author of 300 Graphic Novelis one of the bloodiest, goriest action movies of the 21st century. However, not an awful lot of fake blood was used during filming. In fact, the whole production only used about two gallons of fake blood. The rest was added digitally during the post-production phase. Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License and the GFDL; additional terms may apply.
