Thanks for your kind words about my professional work. I do remote shoots occasionally now though. Have I told you about these before? I meet up with a model online from around the world, and thanks to modern technology, I can control her camera through my computer with the camera app or Capture One. We use something like Zoom to chat. Some of these models use professional setups (pro cameras, lighting, studio booking, etc.), so the results are just as good as you would get from in-person shooting. It’s been a great experience. The process is slower but the results can be excellent. Plus, it’s a great way to network, and shoot in various locations around the world. Good to hear you can still get work done with your models. funny story — there’s a hotel we’ve stayed at for years. Friends with all the staff, including a flamboyant woman in reception. Turns out she does theater burlesque — competitive, no less, and it has to be G-rated. With COVID shutting down all kinds of theater, I think I’ll suggest she use remote too, and set up the contests online. Wide open there is noticeable coma visible. Stopping down to f/2.8 improves the performance significantly, but as we have seen in the sharpness section the corners never look great.

Voigtlander lenses compared: Left to Right – Skopar 2.5, Ultron f2, Nokton 1.4, Nokton 1.2 v3, Nokton 1.2 v2 If this 1,200×900 pixel crop is about 3" (7.5cm) wide on your screen, then the complete image printed at this same large magnification would be about 10 × 15" (25 × 38cm).Hello Wojtek, thanks for your comments! I agree with you, I was expecting something more from this lens but we have to remember what the specification is in relation to its price. Probably we are looking for too much performance for a small price, and it just isn't possible...or is it? Just try the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm F1.2: I find it spectacular, and it costs just a little more than the TTArtisan. And the size is really small for the spec, I used it as my main lens for a long time. Having said that, my Planar is so small and light that it's just a pleasure to walk around with it and shoot with it. And both the Nokton and the Planar are consistently giving good results, no nasty surprises for me.

As E-mount user I lean a bit towards the Zhong Yi lens here but both lenses have their flaws you should be aware of. So far this lens only comes in M-mount, but maybe we will also be seeing an E-mount version as was already the case with the TTArtisan 11mm 2.8 fisheye. The 50mm 0.95 reviewed here has the following specifications: For one, this is definitely a sharp lens. Even at f0.95, you can produce images that are very sharp, especially in the center. I think it comes down to the ability to focus, which can take a bit of practice at first. Once you get used to the 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm f0.95 lens though, you can get great results at f0.95. At f0.95, corners are a bit softer, which isn’t out of the ordinary. As you stop down, the entire image sharpens up nicely with even the center showing improvement. Corners get much better, and by just f2 to f2.8, the entire frame is nearly sharp. I found this lens does perform great throughout the aperture range, so it’s definitely something that you can use for all types of photography. Combined with its relatively compact size, and it’s overall image quality, this one lens could be the only 75mm equivalent that you need. In other words, you wouldn’t need to buy an additional 75mm just for the sake of having one smaller or one that would perhaps, perform better when stopped down. The focus ring has a fairly short throw of just over 90 degrees and it moves easily with a good dampening. It doesn’t feel buttery smooth though, but this can happen even with Leica lenses when brand new and it should get smoother with use. At least I hope so: it is still feeling the same after more than two thousands shots …

lens correction filter for shots made at 10 meters (30 feet), and even with this the distortion is sufficiently complex that there is some residual waviness left after this correction. A client lens for me is the best lens I can use which normally means sharp but pretty photos. For my Leica wedding photography I really enjoy the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.2 lens for example. See below for that and more 35mm lens options.
