Book 7 of a series, readers know what they are getting into presumably, so: more of the same. I am a bit over it but it is still a good mystery, fantastic place, intricate plot, and the theme (cults) was extra fascinating to me.

It kept me on the edge of my seat, the whole church was very disturbing, and I was so worried about Robin at the farm (although I was annoyed she was staying there so long against her better judgement). I will say, though, “ The Running Grave” is without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most suspenseful novels I’ve ever read. Not in a cheap, flashy, and/or sensationalist way, but subtly and almost elegantly. The feeling of a permanent latent danger is omnipresent and mercilessly tugs at the nerves of the reader. Ironic, literally running away from religion, but with the absolute blind certainty a savior is at the end waiting for you. And OH MY GODS I love the entire series but this book is the best by far.
