I just made these for a second time following the recipe to a T and they turned out perfect!! The first time I was short half cup of flour so I subbed almond flour instead. Big mistake. Everything (choc chips, caramel, pretzels) sank to the bottom. I also added a small amount of baking powder last time. They looked marginal to say the least. Lesson learned, follow this recipe to a T and it’ll turn out perfect! Can’t wait to eat! October 20, 2019 I have to say, I’m pretty happy you all are so excited to bake this season because I am too! So much so that I’m stressing about the fact that I really do not have enough days leading up to Christmas to share everything. It’s a good problem to have, but I have SO much I want to share with you. Fingers crossed I can get you all everything you need by the 24th.

Mix about two thirds of the melted chocolate mixture with the fillings, then pour them into a lined tin. Then add the rest of the chocolate to fill in any gaps. Decorate it with salted caramel sauce, some extra pretzels and popcorn. What caramel sauce is best to use? Why am I having such a hard time with the caramel? I made it three times and it always tastes burnt/bitter. Additionally it takes way longer than four minutes for the sugar to melt….I think that’s my problem but I dont know how to rectify it. August 22, 2019 tablespoon cocoa powder preferably Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa Powder but any will work, see notes I also assumed that the recipe called for keeping 4 or 5 caramels out so that the cook could eat them. I am seriously disappointed that you have to put them on top of the batter, although I can see why that is a wonderful touch. Do you suppose anyone would notice if a few disappeared before being incorporated into the batter? August 20, 2019I found these in a grocery store in a town about 1 hr. from where we live and have never seen them near home. I am so happy for the recipe. The ones I bought were called snappers and they were exactly like what you have made here. Thanks so much. These salted caramel pretzel brownies will one-up any other brownie recipe you have! Dense and fudgy double chocolate brownies are swirled with homemade salted caramel (or store-bought if you prefer!) and topped with crushed pretzels. The perfect sweet and salty combination with loads of chocolatey goodness. Making your own caramel may sound daunting, but once you do it a few times, you really get the hang of it and it's pretty easy. See my chocolate sheet cake with salted caramel frosting post for step by step pictures and details on how to make the caramel. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. While the butter is melting, place enough pretzels on the prepared baking sheet to form a single, even layer.

Ok, I’ve now made these three times in five days. The second time I tried making them gluten free for a GF friend, using King Arthur GF flour and Snyder’s GF pretzels. Not. Good. They were grainy and didn’t hold together and the butter kind of wept out of them. But made them again as written tonight and once again they were bananas good! August 25, 2019 High altitude cooking: I live in California almost at sea level. If you live at higher elevations, the rule of thumb for candy making is to decrease your target temperature by 2 degrees fahrenheit for every 1,000 feet you are above sea level.Pre-heat oven to 400° F. Cover an 11×17 baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Set aside.

One of the Ghiradelli chocolate chip varieties — maybe the 60%, but I can never remember, the bag is gold — is a little larger and flatter. That’s what you see here. Since I can never remember which it is, I feel the chips from the outside of the bag to buy the right one. March 20, 2020Kraft caramels–For this recipe, we are using those little square Kraft caramels not caramel chips. I feel like that will give us a smooth caramel that works really well in this recipe. I think I finally settled on the David Liebowitz recipe where you mix the salted caramel with cream cheese before swirling it in, but that would overpower the more delicate blondie flavour. August 30, 2019 Continue cooking, using a spatula to stir the melted sugar from the bottom and edges into the center, until all of the sugar is dissolved and the mixture turns to a rich amber or caramel color. When it reaches this color, remove the pan immediately from the heat. Use the right pan.The caramel will cook best in a light-colored stainless steel pan so you can see the color, which will keep it from burning. This post on making caramelis really helpful if you want to learn more! I meant to say pecans or walnuts (still not caffeinated enough this morning). Not that almonds would be bad, lol, I just personally think the other two would be better. March 23, 2020

I also added a tiny amount of coconut oil to up the fat content since we happen to have some, but only about 1/4-1/2 of a teaspoon so I don’t know how much it did. March 25, 2020 A little salted caramel, some crunch & a little more salt with that ice cream. It’s sooooooooo good.To make the filling, beat the soft cheese with a wooden spoon until smooth, then stir in 100g of the caramel sauce, along with the vanilla and light brown sugar. Add the cream and beat until the mixture is firm enough for the spoon to be able to stand upright in it. Spoon the mixture over the chilled base and level out. Spoon the remainder of the caramel over the top in blobs, then use a skewer or knife to gently swirl into the cheesecake mixture. Give the tin a gentle tap on the work surface to burst any bubbles and level the surface, then cover and chill for at least 4 hours. I melted my chocolate in the microwave because it was faster but feel free to use the double boiler method. Frequently asked questions How to store this no bake tasty treat? There is nothing better than that perfect sweet and salty flavor combination. These salted caramel pretzel brownies will scratch that itch if you are craving sweet and salt! Read on for all the details. How to make fudgy brownies If you've been around awhile, you know my coffee brownies are a big hit at Cambrea Bakes! I've made brownies stuffed with Oreos, and stuffed sprinkle brownies, and now I'm stuffing them with crunchy pretzels! months pregnant and there’s no way I wasn’t making these as soon as I saw them. The stars aligned and I had every single ingredient in my pantry—so now they’re in the oven. Talk about the perfect pregnant person baking project—lots of tasty bits and pieces to nibble on as they’re coming together! I probably slightly burned the caramel but it doesn’t matter, it still tasted good. I took the risk and tried some of the uncooked batter—swoon. Thanks, Deb! August 20, 2019
